Molly lived in Pennsylvania and began to work professionally when she was a teenager in Philly's Prince Music Theater. Her first professional production was The Snow Queen. Then, she played Little Red Ridinghood for the Arden Theater s Into the Woods and was nominated to win a Barrymore Award. Molly reprised the role when Molly performed her Broadway debut in Into the Woods at Broadway in 2002. She received a Drama League Award for this performance. Molly was in the Broadway revival Fiddler on the Roof (2004). In 2008, she graduated with her B.A. from Princeton University. It was during this time when she made her feature film debut in the Disney film College Road Trip as Wendy Greenhut. In this period she made her acting debut in the role of Wendy Greenhut in Disney's College Road Trip. Molly has worked on TV shows, such as Royal Pains, and an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly was a part of numerous regional shows, such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee performed by Barrington Stage Company in 2008 as well as the North Shore Music Theatre's The Diary of Anne Frank in 2010. The Diary of Anne Frank at the Westport Country Playhouse in which Molly was Anne.
